Fast, secure setup — protect your crypto
Trezor hardware wallets keep your private keys offline while Trezor Suite provides the interface to manage assets. Follow this landing-page guide to download official software, verify firmware authenticity, create a secure recovery backup, and confirm your first transaction using on-device signing.
1. Download from the official site
Only download Trezor Suite from trezor.io/start. Choose the correct installer for Windows, macOS or Linux. Avoid links from emails or social media to prevent phishing.
2. Connect and verify
Plug your Trezor device into your computer. Suite will guide you through a firmware check and installation. Always verify the firmware fingerprint shown on the device.
3. Create your recovery seed
Write down the 12–24 word recovery phrase exactly as shown. Do not photograph or store it digitally. This phrase is the only way to recover your funds if the device is lost.
4. Set PIN and optional passphrase
Set a strong PIN to protect against unauthorized access. Add a passphrase for a hidden wallet if you need extra protection; treat it like an additional password.
On-device signing
Transactions are signed inside the Trezor device, so private keys never leave the hardware—protecting you from malware and keyloggers.
Manage many coins
Use one device to manage Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Solana and thousands of tokens — add multiple accounts and switch address types securely.
Privacy & control
Optional Tor integration, discreet mode and custom backend support let you reduce metadata leakage and connect to your own full node.
Security checklist
- Never enter your recovery seed into a computer or phone; store it offline.
- Verify recipient addresses on your device screen before sending funds.
- Use a PIN and consider a passphrase; keep firmware and Suite updated.
- Consider a metal backup for long-term seed protection.
- Only use official support channels—Trezor will never ask for your seed.
